Executive Director – Hillary Tanyanyiwa

Hillary joined JF Kapnek in 2011. Between 2011 and 2012, he coordinated a national program aimed at improving the functional, social, and educational outcomes of children with disabilities, utilising existing government rehabilitation structures. Between 2013 and 2021, Hillary was the Orphans and Vulnerable Children’s (OVC) Programme Manager, there he led J F Kapnek’s OVC programmes, focusing on service delivery to children with disabilities and their caregivers, child protection for children with disabilities, early childhood development, orphans, vulnerable children, and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).

Background

Coming from a background of working in activities that promote and maintain health, increase independent function, and enhance development Hillary was an Occupational Therapist at Gweru Provincial Hospital and he later became a Provincial Therapist for the Ministry of Health and Child Welfare. Hillary holds a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy (University of Zimbabwe), a Master’s in Business Administration (Midlands State University) and a Master’s in Public Health (University of the Western Cape).

Hillary provides leadership, organisational oversight and technical guidance for the design and implementation of all the organisation’s programmes. He ensures that JF Kapnek’s mission is carried out with a high degree of efficiency and accountability, and he is responsible for the development and implementation of the country strategy.
