Dr Kudzai Pisirai Elliot Masunda joined JF Kapnek in May 2021 with a rich background in Public Health and Administration. He holds a degree in Medicine (MBChB) from the University of Zimbabwe, a Master of Commerce in Business administration Degree from Great Zimbabwe University, a Master of Public Health International from the University of Liverpool.

Before joining JF Kapnek Zimbabwe, Doctor Masunda started off as a Clinical Medical officer then he was promoted to District Medical Officer, and he later became the Head of Epidemiology and Disease Control in 2018 at the City of Harare. Now leading the Target, Accelerate and Sustain Quality Care (TASQC)Program at JF Kapnek Zimbabwe Dr. Masunda’ s background in disease control comes in handy as the TASQC program aims to identify and initiate HIV infected people on Anti-Retroviral Treatment (ART) and to ensure that those on ART remain on it and have a low viral load.

Dr. Masunda’s vision is to see JF Kapnek Zimbabwe grow into a well-renowned NGO in Zimbabwe with a prime status under the PEPFAR mechanism. PEPFAR focuses primarily on activities that facilitate the delivery of HIV prevention, care, and treatment services. Dr. Masunda hopes that the good work at JF Kapnek will attract new funders into the organizations’ vision of improving family health through an approach that is integrated and innovative. With a research-driven approach and adapting to changing needs of JF Kapnek clients, Dr. Masunda believes that family health will improve for JF Kapnek clients and for the Zimbabwean people.
